Commissioned for the San Francisco building at the 1939 Golden Gate International Exposition, a World’s Fair held on Treasure Island. Both paintings depict views that look up at the city from sea level. The painting on the left depicts the ferry building with Nob Hill and Market Street rising in the background. The painting on the right is an alternate view of downtown from the wharves.
